Description
Every week, the Nettles Club leaves the classroom, whatever the weather, to observe, understand, and take action. Throughout the seasons, the students discover the biodiversity around them. They keep nature journals, observe birds with an expert from natur&ëmwelt, welcome a wildlife photographer who teaches them how to capture the beauty of the natural world, and meet pollinator specialists to learn about the vital role of bees and butterflies.
Together, they take part in hands-on activities: planting bulbs and seeds, preparing the soil, caring for the school's garden and orchard, harvesting apples, and pressing their own apple juice. These moments of practical work are also moments of sharing and pride—watching what they have sown grow, tasting what they have cultivated, and feeling that they are part of a living ecosystem.
