Description
What if the way we build could help protect the environment and create better places for people? In this ASA, you will discover how sustainable construction can reduce our impact on the planet and help shape the communities of tomorrow.
Together, you will design and build the school's Green Living Room using natural, locally sourced and recycled materials. You will experiment with materials such as wood, clay, straw and stone, build prototypes, test different construction techniques and decide which solutions work best for your project.
You will take an active role in designing the Green Living Room, planning the different stages of construction, and working with local craftspeople, businesses and public authorities. As this is a year-long project, you will have the opportunity to develop new skills step by step and experience the complete journey from the first ideas to the creation of a real sustainable outdoor learning space.

Prerequisites
You do not need any previous building experience. What you need is: curiosity and a willingness to learn; an interest in sustainability, design and hands-on projects; motivation to work as part of a team; commitment to take part throughout the school year
Equipment
You should bring: clothes suitable for outdoor work and activities that may get dirty; sturdy closed shoes ; work gloves (recommended)
