From 07:00 to 08:00, secondary school students have the option of sitting in a lounge to wait for classes to start. Supervised study sessions are integrated into the students' timetable, to minimize study time at the end of the day. After-school activities, Factories and Action & Awareness Week will include support classes, remedial measures, as well as cultural, sporting, scientific and preventive activities.
EIMAB is a full-time school with a timetable that allows it to organize compulsory extra-curricular activities from AET1 to AET3.
The people in charge of these activities and training courses - teachers and external contributors - will be able to share their extra-curricular talents and skills with the participants.
In fact, several studies have shown that manual, recreational, sporting, cultural or artistic activities have positive effects on students' personal development.
Here are just a few of the proven benefits:
EIMAB's pedagogical concept is also based on socialization, social skills development and citizenship projects involving all children and young people enrolled at our school. The concept aims to detect, promote and refine their social skills as a whole.
Studies are integrated into the students' timetable.
Pupils in AET 1 to 3 have 2 to 3 study sessions per week. Study is a compulsory session for students, unless they need to take part in APPUI (educational support for students in European classes S1 to S3). During study time, they have the opportunity to "learn how to learn", do their homework, ask questions about lessons they are having trouble with, etc. The study is led by a teacher.
DLAs are different from traditional classes in that they launch the school day. They provide an opportunity to discuss local and international news, or for the coordinator to get to know his or her class, prepare events and highlights of the school year, read a book, give a short presentation, run a prevention campaign, etc.
AET classes 1 to 3 benefit from one tutoring lesson a week. Supervised by the class coordinator, this is an opportunity at the start of the year to raise awareness of "learning to learn", waste sorting, respect for school equipment and belongings, organizing events and preparing the highlights of the school year.it's also an opportunity to organize events, prepare highlights of the school year and team-building activities, particularly at the beginning of the school year, or to invite a guest speaker.
The ASAs are anchored in the EIMAB philosophy. They are offered by teachers and educational staff on Mondays to Thursdays from 15:15 to 16:45. The ASAs are compulsory for pupils in classes S1, S2, S3, VP1, VP2 and VP3 and offer a unique opportunity to engage in all kinds of activities with pupils from other classes.
Each student participates in four activities per week. Exemptions may be granted for students who already participate in activities outside of school or for other reasons.
The ASAs are held each quarter. Teachers and speakers put together a program for each quarter that provides students with activities in the areas of sports, outdoors, relaxation, nature, gardening, orchard, beekeeping, environment, art, crafts, upcycling, cooking, music, culture, reading, writing, etc. writing, debates, citizenship, solidarity, cinema, documentaries, media, science, new technologies, games (society, strategy), competitions. The offer also includes ASA Silence, which is aimed at students who want to do their homework in a quiet room without smartphones or connected devices.
at the end of each term, each student receives a certificate listing the extracurricular activities in which he/she has participated.
The EIMAB Factories are built around the 3 pillars of the EIMAB concept as thematic platforms grouping together diverse activities and projects sharing a common driving principle and objectives. The various Factories are steered by coordinating groups made up of motivated teaching and non-teaching staff.
In consultation with the students involved in one or other Factory, they coordinate the various activities and projects, offering administrative, technical and material support to students in classes S4-S7 who
- freely decide whether or not to become involved in a Factory,
- are welcomed as partners in decision-making, action and responsibility, according to the
participatory model
- visit one or other Factory according to their availability
- commit to sharing their talents and skills with Factory colleagues in peer-to-peer mode
- receive an annual certificate of participation reflecting their commitment to their individual portfolio
