S1 to S7 | European secondary education

»  S1-S3 | Observation cycle

Most subjects are taught in the mother tongue or strong language (L1). From the first year of secondary school, all students begin studying a second foreign language (L3). In the third year of secondary school, all students study the humanities in their first foreign language (L2). In upper secondary, Latin is offered as an option.

The sixth and seventh secondary classes form a whole, leading up to the European Baccalaureate. La Voie de Préparation | Prepare your vocational training

Our focus is not on the "deficits" and "weaknesses" of the individual, but on the diversity of individual and personal aspirations, abilities and resources.

The Voie de Préparation FR (VPFR) is organized on a modular basis, enabling each student to progress at his or her own pace. Depending on the number of modules passed at the end of the 5VPFR, students may be directed to :

  • the 5ADF class (not organized at EIMAB)
  • vocational training (certificat de capacité professionnelle - CCP, diplôme d'aptitude professionnelle - DAP; not organized at EIMAB)
  • vocational initiation class (CIP; not organized at EIMAB)
  • educational pathways to prepare for vocational training, or measures to integrate students into the job market (COP/COIP classes; not organized at EIMAB).

In 7VPFR, mathematics and general culture will be taught in the vehicular language. Workshops and physical education are taught in English and Luxembourgish.
